About Cardiology Our Cardiac Team Our cardiac services provide care for patients with primary and secondary cardiac disease. Our dedicated cardiology team is proud to provide excellent treatment, support, and education for our patients and their families. How We Care Inpatient Services Our cardiac care unit (CCU) consists of six beds, which are used for the admission, care, and treatment of patients in the critical stages of a cardiac event, such as a heart attack, heart failure, or life-threatening heart rhythm disorders. Our step down telemetry unit (Step Down) consists of 14 beds which are used for the admission of patients with less critical heart problems, and patients transferred from CCU for recovery. Both the CCU and Step Down units are equipped with technological support, including close, continuous observation, and early detection and intervention to ensure you receive the best care possible. Outpatient Services Cardiac patients who can be cared for as outpatients are managed through the use of a day bed. Patients are admitted to this bed for procedures such as pacemaker insertions, intravenous drug therapy, and elective cardioversions. These patients are admitted and discharged on the same day. As part of the continuum of care, we offer an education and support group on an outpatient basis, as well as follow-up phone calls to all heart attack and newly diagnosed angina patients who have been discharged. We Care for You… Your health is our priority. Cardiology services offers a complete continuum of care through disease prevention, critical care, recovery, and patient and family education, continuing through to outpatient rehabilitation, education, and exercise. We are pleased to offer you the services above.
