About Our Services Childbirth Program We are committed to providing a family-centered experience that promotes flexible and individualized care. Grand River Hospital's childbirth program offers the largest community hospital-based, obstetrical services in the Region, with approximately 4,100 births annually. Services include inpatient obstetrics, and outpatient clinics from early pregnancy to approximately one-month post delivery. State-of-the-art labour/birth/recovery/post-partum (LBRP) suites offer families a single room approach to care allowing women with low-risk deliveries to remain in one room throughout the childbirth experience. Our 17 bed antenatal/post-cesarean unit offers a comfortable environment for women and their newborns. Each room is equipped with its own washroom that includes a shower. Our two operating suites manage both elective and emergency cesarean-sections. If you are reading this for a family member whose first language is not English, please advise them that the hospital has a language translation service through AT&T that may be used during their hospitalization and for outpatient appointments. We encourage families to ask their health care provider for further information, and if possible, to bring someone with them who can translate at appointments and during their hospital stay.
