Looking to the Future The children's services is anxiously awaiting reconstruction and looking forward to moving to new facilities. The children's inpatient unit is currently located on the 9th floor of the K-W Health Centre. The space is spread over three wings and there is limited space to support family-centered care. The new facility will be located on the 3rd floor and will provide sleeping space for parents as well as washroom facilities in each room. There will be a lounge area with kitchen facilities and a shower for parents who wish to stay 24 hours a day. The reconstructed special care nursery will be located on the C Wing of the 4th floor. Our new facility will provide one care-by-parent room as well as three courtesy rooms to support breastfeeding mothers. The new facilities will include family lounges and a family resource centre where families can visit and obtain information related to family health care.
