Other Information About the Unit At Grand River Hospital you will find:
Meals - Meals are served at approximately 8 a.m., 12 p.m., and 5 p.m. Laundry - Bedding will be changed as needed. Personal clothing will need to be washed at home. Balloons and flowers - Flowers and balloons cannot enter the hospital as they can cause allergic reactions in patients. TV and telephones - Access to a television and telephones are available at a charge. Please ask your nurse for details. Cell phones MUST be turned off while in the hospital as they interfere with some hospital equipment.
Smoking - Grand River Hospital has a community responsibility to ensure a smoke-free environment. Patients, visitors and staff are not permitted to smoke within 9m of the hospital buildings. There is a designated smoking kiosk outside the revolving doors and across from the parking garage. Staff do not escort patients outside to smoke. Patients that are incapable physically or mentally to go outside alone must have staff permission and be accompanied by a responsible adult. For information on smoking cessation please ask your nurse.
Scent free - We are a scent free hospital - due to allergies and asthma, please refrain from wearing all fragrances. PLEASE NOTE:
