In An Emergency

Call 911 to access emergency response services (ambulance or police), or go to the nearest emergency department (in Kitchener-Waterloo, go to Grand River Hospital’s emergency department).

If possible

  • Have someone you trust accompany you to the hospital
  • Take your medications or a list of your medications with you
  • Take a copy of your crisis plan (if you have one)

If you are in a crisis (for urgent mental health and psychosocial crisis situations)

  • Connect and talk with someone you trust
  • Share your thoughts and feelings
  • Seek help from your doctor or mental health professional
  • Remember, it is ok to ask for help
  • Follow your crisis plan (if you have one)
