What's Being Developed Further

  • Reorganization and expansion of services that help patients transition from inpatient care to community after discharge from hospital
  • Development of new crisis stabilization beds in the emergency department for patient observation and assessment to assist in making admission decisions
  • Development of 50 specialized mental health beds at Grand River Hospital's Freeport site for patients who require a longer hospital stay and more specialized interventions
  • Joint recruitment strategies with other community and regional partners
  • Participate in the development and teaching of medical students through the new KW satellite campus of the McMaster School of Medicine
