About Special Testing

Introduction

The special testing unit is made up of six very unique labs providing a variety of cardio-respiratory and neurology tests.

Patient Services

The special testing unit offers the following tests:

• Pulmonary Function Studies
• Bronchial Challenge
• ABG's ( arterial blood gases)
• Exercise Oximetry
• Cardiac Stress Testing
• Holter Monitor
• Echocardiogram
• Electroencephalogram ( EEG )
• Electromyography ( EMG ) and Nerve Conduction Studies

Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment so our secretaries can register you. HAVE YOUR HEALTH CARD READY.

A PHYSICIAN must order ALL tests.

If your doctor has given you a requisition please bring it with you. Also bring a list of the medications you are taking.

For physicians ordering any of these tests, you may call or fax your request into the special testing unit.

If you prefer to fax the requisition, please include:

• patient's name
• date of birth
• ordering doctor's name and those who need a copy
• specific test
• pertinent information
• reason for the test
• Health Card Number
