Pre-Surgical Clinic Staff at the pre-surgical clinic (PSC) help to explain how you can prepare for your operation, what you can expect, and how to recover at home after leaving the hospital. You may also have tests, such as blood and urine tests done at this time. Once the date of your surgery has been booked, you may call to book your PSC appointment between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. by calling 519-749-4254. Your appointment should be booked on a date that is at least two to four weeks before your surgery. If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please notify the clinic at least 48 hours in advance. **You will be given important instructions for the day of your operation at the PSC. If you do not attend your clinic appointment, your surgery may be cancelled.** If you are scheduled for knee or hip replacement surgery, or need a pre-anesthetic consult, your assessment may be longer. Please be prepared to spend three to four hours at the clinic. The following patients must attend the PSC:

When you arrive for your PSC appointment, you will enter the hospital through the main entrance located on Floor 3. Please report to patient registration on Floor 2 to register for your procedure. There is an information desk in the main lobby staffed by volunteers who will be glad to assist you if you require directions. Please have your health card ready to avoid delays.
