Computed Tomography (CT) Scan at Grand River Hospital The CT scan operates 7 days a week. During evenings and nights, emergency cases are handled by on-call technologists and radiologists. The CT scan provides service to approximately 13,000 patients annually, including patients for the regional cancer program, outpatients, and the hospital’s inpatients. Interventional procedures such as biopsies and drainages are performed in the CT suite. Patients are referred for CT Scans by a family physician or specialist. Patients are booked for appointments based on medical need. In a CT scan, cross-sectional images are produced and manipulated with the aid of advanced computers to allow a detailed picture of the patient's anatomy. We are also able to create 3-dimension models and evaluate blood vessels. For more information on our Wait Time Strategy, please call 519-749-4300 ext. 5553 |
